The Lithuanian Jewish Community joined the Israeli embassy, the Lithuanian Environmental Ministry and the Vilnius regional administration to mark the 25th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between the state of Israel and the Republic of Lithuania April 21 with a tree-planting ceremony at the Izraelita oak grove.
The grove is located near Rukainiai in the Vilnius region. Old and young came to mark the occasion despite the cold weather and everyone pitched in to plant the saplings symbolizing the ever-growing relations between the two countries.
