Last Sunday the Tolerant Person of the Year 2020 award was presented to writer and philosopher Paulius Gritėnas and the Leonidas Donskis prize to jazz musician and director Vladimiras Tarasovas. The Chiune Sugihara/Diplomats for Life organization presents both awards.
“Today we name the courageous and consistent thinker and publicist Paulius Gritėnas, who testified to the need to understand people who think differently during the last year of COVID infection, Tolerant Person of the Year<” executive director of the fund Ramūnas Garbaravičius said at the awards ceremony.
He said the Leonidas Donskis prize was presented to Vladimiras Tarasovas “for contributions to life,” citing his rhythm work in free jazz.
