The Lithuanian Jewish Community, the Roma Community Center and the Lithuanian Human Rights Center are implementing a project called “Strengthening the Human Rights Coalition in Lithuania in 2020.”

The project is aimed at increasing the visibility and participation of the Human Rights Coalition which is constituted of these three organizations in civic initiatives at six regional Lithuanian centers where Jewish communities operate.

This coalition will represent ethnic communities in Lithuania and help fight expressions of hate, Romophobia and anti-Semitism in public life.

Representatives from the LJC regional centers and the Roma community centers are invited to take part. All regional representatives and local civic groups working in the field of human rights and defense of ethnic community rights are invited to participate in coalition-strengthening events.

The main goal of getting active citizens involved is to provide the information and skills needed for coordinated prevention and advocacy activities. Each organization will have the opportunity to plan and carry out local preventative information campaigns and to coordinate activities with local community activists.
